Cuthbertson Edges Marvin Ridge in Tight Rivalry Battle

WAXHAW, N.C. – In a tense, low-scoring showdown between two talented squads, No. 17 Cuthbertson held off No. 19 Marvin Ridge for a 3-2 road victory on Friday night. The win gave Cuthbertson a 2-1 series win on the week.

Caden Matthews turned in a stellar performance for the Cavaliers, tossing six innings of two-hit ball without allowing an earned run. Logan James followed by shutting the door in the seventh to earn the save.

At the plate, James and Gavin Aldredge led Cuthbertson with two hits apiece, while Robert Johnston drove in two crucial runs. James also added a key RBI double to help power the Cavaliers' offense.

For Marvin Ridge, Drew Fletcher kept the game close, allowing just two earned runs over 4.2 innings. Riley Matthews and Nico Soul each doubled, with Soul coming around to score. Alex Hampton took the loss in relief, despite not allowing an earned run.
