The Meadows: Statistical Analysis

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

The Meadows Scout Day in completed, we now take a look back at the standouts from yesterday's event. The Scout Day included a Pro-Style Workout where players ran a Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash, took a Batting Practice, Catcher Pop Times/Velocity, Outfield Evaluations/Velocity and Infield Evaluation/Velocity concluding with Pitches Bullpens. This was an exclusive event for players in The Meadows program to highlight and promote players in their program.

The Meadows Scout Day featured a youthful group that gave us a glimpse of what is to come over the next few years at a quickly rising program. The day began with Leighton "LJ" Mercurius posting the day's Top Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash at 6.93 then capped his day off with the event's Top Infield Velocity at 81 mph. 2024 UT/RHP, Gage Rinetti, may have posted the best overall performance finding himself at or near the top of almost every statistical category, leading the way in Outfield Velocity at 74 mph and Pop Time at 2.03. His small, lean frame paired with his athletic actions at each position make him an interesting prospect to follow, especially as he continues to add strength and size. #5 ranked 2025, Derek Bain, showcase his versatility behind the plate, in the infield and finally on the mound where he registered the day's top Fastball Velocity at 75 mph. 2024 3B RHP, Aiden Otano, rounds out the statistical standouts with his 91 mph Exit Velocity that he carried directly in to his batting practice round where he still has some raw features in his swing, but the raw power was present as he drove the ball throughout his round, especially to the pull side. Now, we break down the top statistical performances from The Meadows Scout Day.
