Inside the Northeast Procase: 2022 RHP Owen Stewart (Notre Dame/George Mason commit)

The Northeast Procase will take place February 20, 2022 at the Liberty Arena in Williamsport, PA. This event marks the 2nd annual event where committed players from NY/NJ/PA will be on full display showing off all of their hard work this preseason. Currently this event is shaping up to be the most talent filled preseason event in our NY/PA history with 85 players headed to Williamsport. Of those current 85 players, 17 players are committed to Power 5 conferences.

Owen Stewart RHP / Elmira Notre Dame, NY / 2022

Stewart stands 6-foot-3, 185-pounds with a lean and lanky frame. The righty moves with a fast tempo during his delivery, long arm-swing, slight head and upper body tilt towards the first-base side and a release from a high 3/4 slot. We have seen Stewart since the summer of the 2018 and he as made significant improvements over the last three years. He is currently the No. 82 ranked player in New York's 2022 class.

His FB peaked 88 mph the last time we saw him (72 in 2018) and we expect to see even more gains come this Northeast Procase. His arm speed is quick evidenced by his tight 11/5 shape breaking ball. His FB has a spin rate of 2300 rpms giving his heater more life up in the zone. We are excited to see him this February.
