Ontario Insider: Uncommitted Senior Spotlight - Matt Jenkins, OF
Name: Matt Jenkins
Position: Outfield
Class: 2018
Height/Weight: 6-foot-1, 190-pounds
Club Team: Great Lake Canadians 16u
Scouting Report: Jenkins is a physical outfielder listed at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds with strong lower half build and well proportioned upper half. Still room to mature and develop strength and size, he projects well and easily meets the eye test as a 2018 grad. The right-handed hitter has a balanced approach at the plate but still does not get cheated. Loads up with hands and ball jumps off his bat with power to his pull side. Generates well and a lot more to come on the offensive side of the ball for Jenkins. Shows some athletic movements, did not run at last event but ran a 7.20 at MLB Bureau workout in August. The arm works in the outfield, some length in the back but gets the arm out front. Good looking player who should be ready for a prime year in 2016.
