Top Performer Spotlight: 2021 MIF Spencer Butz (York Suburban)

Since the early summer, our boot-on-the-ground scouting team have seen 400+ players at showcase events, Limited Series Tournaments and the National Future Games. Already, 100's of players have caught the eyes of our professional scouting staff, all with dreams of playing baseball at the next-level. Over the winter PBR PA will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out and offering "Quick-Hit" thoughts on the players.

Spencer Butz SS / OF / York Suburban, PA / 2021CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: Butz stands 5-foot-10, 165-pounds with plenty of athleticism evidenced by his impressive 60-yard dash time. During BP, the right-hand hitting prospect looks relaxed, strong compact hands power inside the ball showing above average barrel control. The bat-speed is premium (90) showing the ability to hit to both gaps with power, really simple approach. Defensively he moves laterally well with an active lower-half, would like to see his glove to hand transfer quicken up. The arm-swing is fluid releasing the ball from a 3/4 slot, plenty of juice behind his throws across the diamond. Exciting 2021 prospect to keep eyes on this Spring/Summer. |
