CBA Scout Day – Event Rewind
The CBA Scout Day was held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Palisades High School in Charlotte, NC. This event gave players a chance to work directly with their organization in a structured, pro-style workout designed to capture key analytics and performance metrics.
Participants completed multiple rounds of batting practice, a defensive workout, and bullpens for pitchers, allowing coaches and scouts to evaluate both skill and in-game performance. While this Scout Day did not include BLAST Motion swing metrics, jump testing, or body measurements, the event focused on collecting essential stats and analytics to track player development.
This blog series will highlight the top performers from the CBA Scout Day, showcasing players who stood out during workouts and scrimmages and providing insight into those making a strong impression within their organization.

VALD PERFORMANCE
TOP 60-YARD DASH
Traditionally, the 60-yard dash has been the in-event standard to help measure a player's speed tool. We implemented timing gates at the 10-yard split, to capture athletes’ quickness, explosiveness and reaction time. From there, we will calculate an athlete’s top-end speed in miles per hour. While the measurement still has its utility, the 10-yard split has started to become more and more applicable in determining the player's burst and reaction time in-game, whether that's in the outfield or on the basepaths.
TRACKMAN HITTING
