The Classic Scout Blog Part 2
March 12, 2025
The Classic featured top teams and talent from across the state, with Prep Baseball on-site for the action.
Hosted by Georgetown High School at the historic Mike Johnson Park, this eight-team tournament showcased high-level competition.
Below are notes and videos highlighting standout performances from each team.
2025 Stow Rogers, C, James Island
College of Charleston commit. Strong and athletic 6-1 206-pound framed right-handed hitter with broad shoulders. At the plate, starts with a wider base with hands up at ear level and barrel pointed down. Some moving parts after first move back, reaching a somewhat crouched position before hands drift back, creating stretch with a toe tap load. At footstrike weight can lean a little too far forward, but exceptional upper half strength still moves barrel quickly thru zone and strong hands produce forceful contact in a naturally lofty path. Easy raw power in swing with an intriguing athletic skillset to match, suggesting more defensive upside behind the plate and/or the ability to move positions around the field.
