GEORGETOWN, TX - The College Station Cougars visited the Georgetown Eagles for the second game of a three game set in the area round of the UIL Playoffs. The first game was played on Thursday in Bryan, with Georgetown coming out on top 4-1.

The Georgetown offense had a very effective game plan that they executed. They worked tons of deep counts, moved runners over using some small-ball, and were aggressive on the base paths.

Pitching was strong all game for the Eagles. Four Eagle pitchers combined to shut-out a very talented College Station offense. Jack Brinley got the start for Georgetown. He worked into the fifth inning, pounding the strike zone the entire outing. Braxton Pearson also recorded some crucial outs for Georgetown out of the bullpen. He entered the game in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and escaped the jam without allowing a run.

Georgetown advances to the next round and will play the winner of Leander Rouse and Porter.
