Uncommitted Spotlight: Trenton Harrington

Brett Thorney
State Scouting Director

We continue our coverage of uncommitted players, spotlighting them to help maximize their exposure and assist them in the recruiting process. Today, we look at 2022 SS/RHP Trenton Harrington (Chaparral).

+ 2022 SS/RHP Trenton Harrington (Chaparral)- Harrington is a player that should be followed closely going into the spring season as he has a chance to be a big contributor.  He is a very solid all-around baseball player that shows significant versatility & upside. He displays two-way capabilities as a shortstop & right-handed pitcher. He has plenty of athleticism to play an OF spot as well. Harrington sports a large projectable frame with thin athletic body and plenty of room to hold more weight. We had a chance to see Harrington start on the mound this fall. Pitched with an uptempo delivery, showing some arm speed. Threw with short arm action from a 3/4 slot. FB sat 80-84mph with some arm side movement at times. The ball comes out clean and he should add some velocity in the future. Threw a slurvy breaking ball at 70-72mph. Offensively, Harrington is a left-handed hitter that shows bat speed with above average pop & pull-approach. We saw Harrington hit a big triple to RCF in the same game this fall. Defensively, he has some twitchy actions in the INF, staying low with some arm strength across the diamond. Harrington has some tools & athleticism that should be followed.
