Scouting Report
1-28-17
5-11, 175 pounds. Switch-hitting catcher who showcases bat-speed on both sides of the plate. Exit velocity was 86 mph from the right side and 83 mph from the left side. Get's money's worth with uphill swing path, and attack ball with good plate coverage on both sides. Wants to crush the ball. Both sides of the plate offensively play well. Can also run with dry 4.1 home to first time. Has a ton of tools. Good feet behind dish with solid receiving skills. Every time we see Castonguay we like him more. Looks like a leader as well. Pop time ranged from 2.05-2.10.

5-foot-11, 175-pound right hand hitting C/3B. At the plate he stands open with a long stride to come square. Lower half is solid through the zone creating good pull side power. Swing is aggressive and long with extension out front. Exit velocity was 89 MPH. Behind the plate he showed a good set up and athletic actions. Soft hands and frames well. Pop-time was 1.98-2.01 with accuracy and his arm velocity was 81 MPH.

5-foot-10, 180 pounds. Bats and throws right. Wide stance in a croutch. Slight uphill swing with good extension. Gets his moneys worth in swing. 83 mph exit velocity off tee but played better in live round. Good actions at 3B. Fields ball out in front, ranges well to both sides. Accurate throws to 1B. Behind the dish has quick feet and quick release. 2.08-2.10 pop times. Strong receiving skills. Solid young catcher. Ran a 4.6 home to first.
