2020 Recruiting Class Breakdown: Indiana

The NCAA's early signing period is wrapping up this week. In the coming days we are recapping the 2020 high school recruiting classes for each D1 school in Indiana with in-state recruits. Here we look at Indiana.

Head Coach Jeff Mercer and staff are once again bringing in some of the top in-state talent to Bloomington. All five in-state recruits are ranked in the Top 20 of Indiana's class of 2020 rankings, with four in the top ten and four in the PBR national rankings. Kip Fougerousse (Linton-Stockton HS), ranked No. 2, is a strong 6-foot-3, 210 pound right-handed hitting corner infielder that should be a huge addition to the Hoosiers' offense once he lands on campus. RHP Costa Sirounis (Munster) boasts a large 6-foot-6, 225 pound frame with a fastball up to 94 and feel for his 77-79 mph curveball. LHP Zach Behrmann (North Central HS) is another big arm at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds. Behrmann currently has a consistent upper 80's fastball (T-90) with a sharp breaking ball in the mid-70's. Casper Clark (Columbus North HS) adds even more size on the mound at 6-foot-6, 255 pounds. Clark reaches the low 90's with his fastball with a power type breaking ball in the mid-70's. SS/RHP Tyler Nelson (Andrean HS) is a potential two-way player at IU. The 5-foot-10, 170 pounder has solid defensive skills up the middle of the field with speed (6.73-60). Nelson is also a reliable arm on the mound with a fastball that gets into the upper 80's and one of the better breaking balls in the class at 73-77.

Body: 6-foot-3, 210-pounds. Large build with strength throughout.
Defense: Corner infield type defender, hands played, actions are long at times, showed well on back hand with arm strength.
Arm: RH. INF - 86 mph. Short over the top arm action, flashed carry and played accurate.
Hit: RHH. Tall setup, narrow and slightly open, stride dives with leg lift. Fast bat speed, aggressive intent, looks to drive the baseball with power, ball jumps off the bat.
Power: 100 mph exit velocity from the tee. Big right-handed power.
Run: 7.14 runner in the 60.
