As the year starts to unwind, our staff will start to highlight the top-10 most viewed profiles from 2020 - starting at 10 and counting down.

Today, we’ll highlight Blue Valley OF Chase Jans, the fifth ranked prospect in the Kansas’ 2021 class and 361st overall nationally. A former PBR Future Games participant, Jans is one of the toolsiest prospects in the Midwest. He’s a 6.45 runner in the 60-yard dash, boasting a game-changing run tool that will certainly play at the next level. He also has some sneaky power potential harnessed within a rather compact stroke that stems from that high-end athleticism of his.

Jans is committed to attend Kansas next fall and his run tool should make him a weapon for the Jayhawks in the Big 12.

Scouting Report

6/5/18 - Jans is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 6.60 60 and a 4.34 home to first.  At the plate, starts with a square stance in base, smooth load in hands and weight, short stride, quick bat speed, level though the zone, gap to gap line drives with power to pull gap. On the infield, 81 mph positional velocity, athletic actions, quick feet to the ball, aggressive, short high three quarters arm slot, strong build with quick twitch movements, player to follow in the 2021 class.
