Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Prep Baseball KS Player of the Week. We will rely on submissions from high school coaches and others by way of email ([email protected]) or DM on X (twitter). Nominations should include player name, grad year, position, and stat line. KS HS Position Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week will be released every Tuesday after noon.

Let's take a look at the Positino Player of the Week for Week 2 (March 24-March 31):

Phoenix Thompson RHP / 3B / De Soto, KS / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 3  It is not often we have a hitter of the week that only plays two games. There usually just isn't enough at bats to do enough damage. Thompson gets the nod though, thanks to a perfect 7-for-7 with one of the longest home runs of the spring and a ground rule double.
