Ailshie’s Homer, Phelps’ Gem Lift East Rowan Over Robinson in Pitcher's Duel

CONCORD, N.C. – A first-inning solo home run from UNC commit Harrison Ailshie was all East Rowan needed, as Mason Phelps delivered a complete-game shutout in a 1-0 victory over Robinson on Tuesday night.

Ailshie set the tone early, launching a home run to left-center in the first inning. He finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and the game’s only run and RBI.

On the mound, Phelps was dominant, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just four hits. The uncommitted 2025 right-hander racked up nine strikeouts and worked around three walks to earn the win.

Robinson’s Jake Barbee (USC Upstate commit) was equally impressive, striking out eight over five innings while allowing just one run on three hits. Noah Johnson followed with two scoreless frames in relief, but Robinson’s offense couldn’t break through against Phelps.
