Charlotte Latin Shuts Out Union Academy in Commanding 11-0 Victory

Union Academy | Monroe, NC | Wednesday March 12, 2025

Charlotte Latin delivered a dominant performance on both sides of the ball, shutting out Union Academy 11-0 behind a stellar outing from Avery Booker and a relentless offensive attack.

Avery Booker was nothing short of spectacular on the mound, throwing a complete-game shutout. The right-hander overpowered Union Academy hitters, allowing just three hits while striking out 12 without surrendering a walk over seven innings. His dominance set the tone for a one-sided affair.

Charlotte Latin's offense consistently applied pressure throughout the game, collecting 11 hits and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Hudson Shoup led the charge, going 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while Luka Kadijevic and Jack Bancroft each added two-hit performances. Booker helped his own cause at the plate, driving in two runs with a double and drawing two walks.

Brayden Hampton also contributed with a two-hit game, including a double, as the Hawks methodically built their lead, leaving Union Academy with no answers.

The Cardinals couldn't find their rhythm at the plate against Booker’s dominant outing. Christian Pawl provided a brief spark with a double, while Ethan Edwards and Ethan Rowe each managed a hit. However, they were unable to generate any sustained offense to challenge Latin’s control of the game.

On the mound, Brett Moore took the loss for Union Academy, allowing six runs (five earned) over 4.2 innings. Christian Pawl and Jaxx Rape combined in relief, but the Hawks' offense continued to pile on insurance runs.
