SCOUT BLOG

Connor Salerno, LHP, Sun Valley, 2027
Impressive outing, working into the 4th and striking out 9. Dominant in stretches, Salerno commanded the zone, attacking hitters with stuff that jumped out of the hand. Fastball peaked at 91, sitting 87-89 with some ease through the release. Slider had depth and late action, ranging 76-79. Flashed a change-up at 80. Stable over the backside, lifting to the low-chest. Level and on-line, front side closes as the hands break. Controlled down the hill, lands on-line with a closed foot-strike. Excellent backside drive and action creates an easy path for the arm. Long smooth arm action works through a high-¾ slot. Advanced arm speed and arm strength. Quick/efficient body movement. Excellent tempo, fun to play behind. Showed game command, controlling the run game with varied looks and timing.
