Cary HS  9 Panther Creek HS  3

A scrappy Panther Creek HS team did not give up until the final out in a 9-3 loss to Cary HS on Tuesday evening. Panther Creek scored one run in the first and two in the fifth, and tried to get a rally started in the sixth and seventh, but was shut down by good defensive plays by the Imps. 

Collins Black got the start for Cary and was too much for Panther Creek to handle. Black struck out 11 batters over six innings with a very sharp hard breaking slider. From the plate, Black helped his own cause with a single, double, and triple. Gavin Turner of Cary HS also added a single, double, homerun, and 3 rbi for Cary HS.
