Taking the hill in the Diamond Classic championship last week, LHP Anthony Solometo (Bishop Eustace Prep, NJ) cruised through 5.2 innings before a lightning delay forced him out of the game. He struck out 12, allowing just two hits and a walk. He threw 26 pitches in the first inning, as the Williamstown hitters made him work a bit, but he found a groove and needed just 64 to get through the next 4.2. The fastball worked up to 93 mph, sitting 88-92 with above-average arm-side run.
