CA JUCO Coverage: Delta at Cabrillo

Santa Cruz, CA: Before the High School season kicked off I got a chance to see some California JUCO talent this week along with about 10 MLB Scouts. Both Cabrillo and Delta College have regularly moved talent to the collegiate and MLB levels in recent years and showcased that 2020 would be another season where their talent will translate and push them to be two of the better teams in the region. Delta took home the 5-0 victory, but both teams had players that colleges and MLB scouts should take note of. Let’s dive into coverage of the 5 players to know.
DELTA V CABRILLO:
FR RHP/OF Ian Koenig (Cabrillo) - L/R, 6-2, 200
Koenig is someone I’ve seen multiple times this Fall/Winter and the upside continued to be on display in a 4-inning outing against a deep Delta lineup. The 6-2, 200 frame has square shoulders and length in the limbs while still projecting some added strength as he continues to mature.
