A Norwalk, Conn. native, McCabe followed his .297/.381/.411 performance as a freshman with a .345/.433/.453 sophomore campaign, then encored with a strong showing (.291/.361/.340) in the 2019 Cape Cod League. The senior has a strong offensive track record in the Big East (.313 career average through 131 games) and earns high marks for his line-drive-producing right-handed bat and sound approach. Defensively, McCabe has spent much of the past two seasons at the hot corner after manning shortstop early in his Hoyas career. He’s a versatile defender on the infield, with hands, actions and arm strength that qualify him to play the left side.
