Joseph Calabretti

Physical: 6’2 185lb IF/RHP ran a 7.61 laser timed 60 yard dash. Displays solid physical build that has strength throughout.

Offensively: Athletic switch hitter, Starts in an upright stance with a wide base. He keeps a good rhythm between his upper and lower half as he attacks down and through the ball. Becomes more rotational from the LH side. 

Defensively: Shows the ability to move his feet efficiently prior to receiving the ball and funneling into the center of his body. His hands work confidently when receiving the ball and transferring into his throwing hand. Smooth athletic transitions made on the slow roller.

6-foot, 170-pound switch-hitter showed sound swing mechanics from both sides of the plate. Starts from a square stance and uses a lift-and-replace stride to begin. Stays behind the baseball well and showcase a feel for the barrel. Registered a top bat exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Showcased active feet defensively while playing the baseball on the move with accurate 79 mph arm strength across the diamond. The righty sat 78-79 on the mound out of a 3/4 arm slot. Curveball sat 71-73 with slider like break. Also showcased a straight changeup at 72-73.

5-foot-11, 150-pound switch-hitter is a natural right-handed hitter. Calabretti used a square stance from the right-side and a quick leg lift to feature a 76 mph bat-exit-velocity. From the left-side, he utilized a square stance and a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. The lefty showed feel for the barrel as he hit behind the baseball well. Showcased active feet and soft hands during defensive evaluations as he registered throws of 71 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher displayed a side rocker-step and a repeatable delivery to command 72-73 mph fastballs with small arm-side-run out of a high 3/4 arm-slot. The righty featured 61-64 mph curveballs that he fought to get on top of. Changeups were thrown with similar arm-speed at 64-66 mph.
