Preseason Power 25 Countdown: No. 6 Sun Prairie East

The 2025 Wisconsin high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the Badger State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective WIAA Division State Championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams with this initial Preseason Power 25 release which will take us right up to first pitch.

X-FACTOR

SS Max Glusick (2025; Wisconsin-Milwaukee) looks to have a big season with Sun Prairie East. The Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit is one of the top players in the class. All around athlete with speed that translates in game both defensively and on the basepaths. At the plate, Glusick is balanced with an easy swing, with some ability to impact the baseball. Defensively, Glusick plays with a ton of energy capable of making rangy plays to both sides. While hitting .475 on the year with 48 hits—many of which came during their run to the State Championship—Glusick has high expectations as he heads into this season.

NEWCOMER TO WATCH

OF Camden Glusick (2027) is slotted in to start at one of the oufield spots this season for Sun Prairie East and will be counted on to fill some big shoes. Glusick is ranked 43rd in the state of Wisconsin for the class of 2027. Standing at an athletic 6-foot, 166-pound frame the outfielder is quick with range in the field to pair with an accurate arm. At the plate, the bat speed is visible and consistent, a rising sophomore in the state Gluisck has the tools to excell at the varisty level.

TEAM OUTLOOK

In addition to Glusick, C Manny Abreu Socorro (2026) will be a returning asset for Sun Prairie East. One of the top defensive catchers in the class, the strong junior strength stands at 5-10, 200-pound frame. At the plate, Abreu Socorro is an experienced bat with bat-to-ball abilities providing a steady presence to the lineup.

INF/RHP Van Vogler (2026) is another returning bat that could play a key role in this lineup. An athlete that's still growing into his own physically. Not only could Vogler see an increased role, but an increase in production is something to watch out for.

Rounding off the lineup, INF Gavin Meece (2025), OF Braydon Johnson, DH Alex Klun (2025, Beloit), OF Reed Saustad (2025)

Sun Prairie East has a strong pitching staff as they have five pitchers returning: RHP Klun, RHP Brady Stelzer (2026), LHP Joseph Tamboli (2026), RHP Vogler, and RHP Meece.

Klun has a strong, athletic, and projectable 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. On the mound, he has a tall, fall-delivery motion with looseness in his arm. It will be exciting to watch him pitch this season.

Stelzer is always exciting to watch on the mound and will play a vital role this season. His fastball has life in the zone, reaching 84 mph with a spin rate of 2354 rpm. He displays looseness with a quick arm through his delivery.

Tamboli has a loaded arsenal with a fastball up to 86 mph. The lefty has an uptempo delivery with looseness to his arm. He is a threat to anyone who faces him. The left-hander saw a lot of action as a sophmore, pitching well when called on, entering his junior year with his entire arsenal getting a tick or two better, Tamboli could establish himself as one of the top performers this spring.

BOTTOM LINE

With plenty of depth and athleticism, Sun Prairie East looks to build on their success from last year and make it back to the State Championship.
