The Winter Review & Junior Future Games Trials Showcase took place December 30th at Pro Performance RX in Morgantown, WV. Today we continue a series of articles analyzing the prospects in attendance beginning with a look at the Outfielders that participated.

Will Ellis, George Washington HS, Class of 2021

12.30.18 - Offensively, the 5-foot-11, 160-pound primary pitcher starts in a neutral, athletic stance. Displayed a simple, effective swing that he shows well. Looks to drive the ball with a slight launch. A 82 mph exit velocity was recorded.

Defensively, Ellis fields the ball inside of his body and displays athletic lateral movement. An accurate arm was also displayed. He also ran a 7.45 - 60. A 76 mph positional velocity was recorded. Overall, Ellis is a solid player and one to watch in the 2021 class.

Chandler Rhodes, Frankfort HS, Class of 2019

12.30.18 - Offensively, the 5-foot-10, 145-pound primary outfielder starts in a spread, open stance with his hands set lower. Generates good torque and quickness, as evident by him running a event best 6.76 - 60. Doesn't get cheated with his swings. A 84 mph exit velocity was recorded. 

Defensively, Rhodes shows real athleticism in the outfield. Tracks ball well off the bat. Fields the ball inside of his body and makes strong, accurate throws to the plate. Overall, Rhodes is one of the best available outfielders in the 2019 class in West Virginia. 

Ryan Hall, Bridgeport, Class of 2023

12.30.18- Offensively, the 5-foot-6, 140-pound primary pitcher starts in a spread, neutral stance with his hands near his head. Displayed the ability to drive the ball consistently to all fields. Solid fundamental stride and swing. A 73 mph exit velocity was recorded.

Defensively, Hall showed some tentativeness in fielding the ball off the ground, but recovered nicely with a strong, accurate arm to home plate. A 64 mph positional velocity was recorded. Overall, Hall displayed solid, baseball fundamentals and is an intriguing prospect to watch.

Aaron Jamison, Morgantown, Class of 2023

12.30.18 - Offensively, the 5-foot-9, 145-pound primary outfielder starts in a open, spread athletic position with his hands near his shoulders. Has a solid stroke from the left side of the plate. Consistently drove the ball hard. A 84 mph exit velocity was recorded. 

Defensively, Jamison shows confidence in his glove. Fields the ball mostly inside his body and throws in a straight over-the-top motion to home plate. A 73 mph positional velocity was recorded. Overall, Jamison is a player to keep your eye on in this class.

Jason Ludwick, Lincoln, Class of 2022

12.30.18 - Offensively, the 5-foot-11, 155-pound switch hitter starts in a tall, open stance with his hands near his head. Very much a pull hitter, as he catches a lot of ball out front and drives them. A 71 mph exit velocity was recorded.

Defensively, Ludwick tends to field the ball in a more upright position. He was accurate on his throws to home plate. 

 

Landyn Reppert, Bridgeport, Class of 2022

12.30.18 - Offensively, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound primary outfielder starts in a tall, athletic stance with his hands near his head. Struggled some on this day finding the barrel. When he did connect, was able to drive the  ball. A 75 mph exit velocity was recorded.

Defensively, Reppert fielded the ball cleanly. A 63 mph positional velocity was recorded.
