WHAT ARE THE SILVER STATE TOP PROSPECT GAMES?

The Silver State Top Prospect Games bring together top 2027-2030 prospects from across Nevada for one of the state’s premier fall events. The event gives players an opportunity to perform in front of the Prep Baseball Nevada scouting staff while collecting verified statistics, video and advanced performance data.

Position players will complete a full pro-style workout that includes athletic testing, defensive evaluations and batting practice. Players will then compete in live game action, allowing our staff to evaluate each prospect’s tools and overall performance in a competitive setting.

Pitchers will be evaluated during live gameplay, with TrackMan collecting detailed information on velocity, spin rate, movement and additional pitch characteristics. All player results will be added to their Prep Baseball profiles, which are available to nearly 1,000 college programs nationwide.

LIVE GAMEPLAY

Following the workout, players will compete in live game action. This portion of the event allows the Prep Baseball Nevada scouting staff to evaluate players in a competitive setting, including at-bat quality, defensive actions, game speed, baseball instincts and overall performance.

PITCHER AND CATCHER EVALUATIONS

  • TrackMan Pitching Data – Pitchers will throw during live game action while TrackMan records fastball velocity, spin rate, induced vertical break, horizontal movement, release characteristics and other advanced pitch metrics.

  • In-Game Pitch Evaluation – Prep Baseball staff will evaluate pitch quality, command, delivery, secondary offerings, ability to compete and effectiveness against live hitters.

  • Catcher Evaluations – Catchers will be evaluated on receiving, blocking, throwing ability, transfer times, pop times, arm strength and game management during the workout and live game action.

PLAYER PROFILES AND EXPOSURE

Following the event, each player’s verified statistics, TrackMan data, Blast Motion results, videos and scouting notes will be uploaded to their Prep Baseball profile. These profiles provide players with a complete digital record of their performance that can be viewed by college coaches and professional scouts.

The Prep Baseball refund policy is transfer-based. Prep Baseball will permit the transfer of an event payment to another Prep Baseball event within one year of the original event date. Registration fees will not be refunded. If an event is canceled due to weather, players will receive a full credit that may be used toward a future event within the following 12 months.

For first-time attendees, a new player profile will be created, hosting all of your information, videos, head shot, metrics and more, making it one of the most important tools in a prospect's recruiting process.

Repeat showcase performances will continue to update your player profile, creating a history of prospect progress and ensuring the most up-to-date information is easily accessible throughout the fast-paced scouting community. These profiles are also searchable by a range of data points and metrics through our advanced search engine, making it a one-stop shop for recruiters and scouts.

Body Composition

Players' body composition will be officially measured using state-of-the-art, medical-grade technology that will provide precise insights into height, weight, skeletal muscle mass, BMI and more. Players will step on scales using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), a method for measuring body composition, including muscle mass, body fat, and total body water.

Our scales will then produce several metrics giving insight into the prospect’s body composition. Height will be measured using a digital stadiometer to get precise height measurements.

Grip Strength

Hitters' grip strength will be tested using a digital hydraulic dynamometer. Grip strength is an essential component to bat strength and controlling the barrel. Hitters will be put through a max strength test on both hands, shedding light on hand strength and potential power and bat control down the road.
