On Sunday, January 5th, the PB California staff traveled to Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, CA, to host the Central California Preseason All-State, an invite-only event for the class of 2025-2028.
Nearly 60 players made their way to Lancaster this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. Brady Hewitt SS / RHP / Royal, CA / 2025
OREGON COMMIT
Positional Profile: SS - Dynamic toolset with left side of the INF defensive profile that could stick at SS while showcasing loud impact at the plate from RH side with high level feel to hit. Body: 6-2, 200 pounds. Shows present physicality with strength through upper and lower half Hit: RHH. Open stance with balanced set up and slightly taller posture. Showing slight knee bend and minimal hip hinge. Hands are set at rear shoulder depth and height with more vertical bat angle and higher back elbow. Smooth load with small leg lift and shift of weight into backside before reaching launch position. Swing is explosive with aggressive tight rotation of his hips and hand speed delivering the barrel with present bat speed. Barrel gets into the zone early staying through the ball with impact. Feel to hit with power in profile. 77.2 mph bat speed with 13g of rotational acceleration. Power: 105 mph max exit velocity (95 avg.); 399-foot max batted distance. Consistently elevates the ball with loud authority from the middle of the field to pull side. Ball carries off bat giving him realistic power to straightaway CF and pull-side with potential for opposite field HR power to come. Impact bat profile. Arm: RH. INF - 88.00 mph.pull-side Slightly longer path out of the glove getting the ball with depth behind him and throws with present arm speed and carry to his throws. Arm profiles to handle SS or 3B. Defense: Paraclete Plays with body control and athletic movements. Has confidence in his feet and comfort playing 2-handed while being able to move laterally/downhill with instincts. Can get slightly more dynamic, but he looks the part of SS/3B defender who will be solid to high level. Athletic Testing: 6.81 runner in the 60-yard dash. Explosive runner who drives off the line with burst and ability to build speed throughout.

Small sit into the rear leg, but for most part stays taller with good stride length down the mound. Shows feel to use hips and can block on his front side with good body control. Can improve lower half and tap into more velocity potentially. Arm Action: RH. Longer arm path out of the glove with depth rearward and the explosive arm speed through the delivery with more of a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot at release. Has recoil after release. FB: T92, 89-91 mph. High spin offering which explodes out of the hand with riding life when executed in the zone and can run in on the hands of RHH T2527, 2434 average rpm. CB: 76-79 mph. Hard biting 2-plane offering with life and good spin that gives it whiff inducing quality, but needs polish to control/command T2660, 2587 average rpm.

Positional Profile: C/1B Impact level defender behind the plate with elite arm strength whose offensive profile shows top of the order potential. Body: 6-0, 149.7 pounds. Athletic wiry frame that is starting to add strength with maturity. Hit: RHH. Balanced set up with slight knee bend and slight hip hinge. Lower back elbow with hands set above rear shoulder just below the ear with barrel tipped towards 3B coaches box with waggle in hands. Shifts weight into backside to start the load with a medium leg kick into an aggressive forward move with front side. Maintains balanced well and turns with quickness in his hips using lower half well. Hands are direct to the zone with a slightly uphill path that stays through the zone well to find the barrel with consistency. 67.9 mph bat speed with 9g of rotational acceleration. Power: 94 mph max exit velocity (85.6 avg.); 331-foot max batted distance. Shows ability to elevate the ball with consistency more on the line drive side which plays to his strong present top end EV to give him middle of the field doubles power with HR power to the pull side. Shows feel to find the barrel and hit ball hard at consistent level. Arm: RH. C - 86.00 mph. Elite arm strength behind the plate from a loose fast arm that produces online low carry to his throws that shows well in workouts and plays as well if not better in game. Defense: 1.85-1.90 pop time range; Smooth receiver who moves well and can present pitches with quiet actions. Athletic blocker with mobility/agility. Profiles as a top end defender at premium spot. Athletic Testing: 7.35 runner in the 60-yard dash. Runs well with body control, stride length and ability to maintain throughout.

3. Jacob Madrid C / OF / Notre Dame High School, CA / 2026
LONG BEACH STATE COMMIT
Positional Profile: C/OF Shows potential to be an impact defender at premium spot while adding a middle of the order offensive profile. Plus, legitimate reliever profile on the mound. Body: 6-4, 205 pounds. Physicality in present build with strength, but still room to improve. Hit: RHH. Wider set up with feet slightly open. Gets bend in his knees to engage legs while staying vertical with his upper body. High back elbow with hands set above ear height closer to his head with waggle in the hands/bat. Shifts back into rear hip to start load with a toe tap on his front foot to reach launch positon. Hands tip the barrel to load. Aggressive turn in the hips with strong present bat speed while staying taller in his posture/legs during the turn. Hands are quick to the zone with an uphill bat path that produces lift with carry. 67.8 mph bat speed with 8g of rotational acceleration. Power: 100 mph max exit velocity (86.7 avg.); 304-foot max batted distance. The uphill bat path and present top end EV gives him plenty of power projection. Ball carries, but some inconsistency to contact quality. Profiles to have middle/pull side of the field HR power. Arm: RH. C - 82.00 mph. Clean quick transfer at the chest slightly off his body. Arm path is compact, getting up on the backside quickly with strong present arm speed and carry to his throws. Profiles as an impact thrower behind the dish. Defense: 1.90-2.00 pop time range; Polished in his receiving with impressive mobility for his size and ability to block Madrid looks like a high level defender at a premium spot. Athletic Testing: 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash. Stays low to drive off the line while showing body control and stride length throughout. Can clean up upper body mechanics to reach potential.

Full arm path out of the glove with downward depth while staying behind the body working up to the high 3/4 release point. Path features present quick arm speed with looseness and extension and minimal recoil after release. FB: T87, 85-87 mph. Lively FB with ride in the profile and good spin that will allow the straighter shape to play up in the zone for whiff/chase T2499, 2418 average rpm. CB: 72-75 mph. T2208, 1606 average rpm. CH: 78-78 mph. Heavy fade to the arm side with solid feel to kill spin T1992, 1992 average rpm.

4. Gavin Williams C / SS / Garces Memorial High School, CA / 2027
Positional Profile: C/SS Highly talented versatile player who shows strong defensive profile at C with potential to play corner INF/OF and adds a loud offensive profile with feel to hit and power from both sides of the plate. Body: 6-4, 190 pounds. Athletic build with present strength emerging and plenty of room to add. Hit: SH. RH: Taller posture with small knee bend and hip hinge from a narrow open foot set up. Hands and rear elbow are set low with hands below his shoulder height and barrel tipped vertically towards the sky. LH: Very similar set up with the hands set slightly deeper behind his body. RH: controlled load with shift into back hip and medium leg lift into launch position. Hands push back to separate from the hips in the turn. Sinks into rear knee during the turn to allow his direct hand path and direct barrel path to get up through the baseball to get the ball in the air. Shows present bat speed with quickness in the turn from an athletic operation. LH: Similar operation to the RH side with more control to the turn and slightly less sink into his rear leg. Hands/barrel are still direct with flat path that generates more line drive contact with impact off the bat. 73.6 mph bat speed with 10g of rotational acceleration. Power: 101 mph max exit velocity (95.1 avg.); 360-foot max batted distance. RH: Power plays to middle/pull side of the field with present carry and intriguing top end EVs that show full field power profile. LH: slightly less top end impact from LH side with a slightly flatter path that profiles a little more hit than power on LH side but still shows pull impact and middle of the field carry. Arm: RH. C - 79.00 mph. INF - 79.00 mph. Arm plays well behind the plate with present arm speed and quickness in his transfer and ability to get the ball online to the base. Can polish footwork and body to improve, but shows high level throwing potential. Defense: 1.90-2.00 pop time range; Versatility in his profile defensively, but the foundation of his toolset behind the plate should project there long term with interesting upside because of athletic ability/frame. Athletic Testing: 7.21 runner in the 60-yard dash. Athletic runner who shows body control and ability to maintain his speed/stride throughout.

5. Holden Newhouse RHP / 1B / Notre Dame High School, CA / 2026
LOYOLA MARYMOUNT COMMIT
Positional Profile: RHP - Starter profile RHP who has feel for a high quality FB, potential impact CHG and SLD while displaying feel for control of the zone and command Body: 6-3, 215-pounds. Strongly built prototype pitcher with room to polish Delivery: Athletic operation with higher hand set that drops to belly button before syncing with his front leg in the load. Stays taller on his backside with a medium length stride that blocks solidly on the front side. Hips work well in the delivery with ability to maintain direction. Arm Action: RH. Depth out of the glove downward and slightly behind his back before working to a high 3/4 release point. Loose fast arm that shows low effort to get to present arm speed profiling increased velocity in future. Does have recoil after release. FB: T88, 86-88 mph. Heavy arm side run on the pitch with good spin and ability to attack in on RHH hands or away from LHH hitters barrels with feel for the pitch T2451, 2286 average rpm. SL: 77-79 mph. Tight sharp breaking SLD with cutter like shape that bites hard and late getting whiff/chase from hitters especially when thrown at top level of spin rates. T2672, 2391 average rpm. CH: 76-78 mph. Has plus potential on the CHG with heavy action to the arm side that he throws with FB arm speed and induces whiff/chase from hitters. T2116, 2028 average rpm.

6. Osvaldo Nunez RHP / 1B / Notre Dame High School, CA / 2026
Positional Profile: RHP - Rising arm who shows quality present FB velocity, impressive CHG and emerging SLD that has a starters profile with a high ceiling Body: 6-4, 190-pounds. Prototype pitcher build with strength in lower half and room to fill still Delivery: Lower hand set with small movement as it syncs with the front leg in the load portion of delivery. Front leg leads down the mound with athletic easy operation. Uses hips well while flashing feel to block on his front side. Arm Action: RH. Short compact arm path out of the glove with present quick arm speed that works to more of a 3/4 release point with minimal recoil after release. FB: T92, 89-91 mph. Firm FB which has really good spin and the shape has both ride and run especially when thrown up in the zone T2473, 2307 average rpm. SL: 73-76 mph. Emerging SLD which is starting to show better spin to go with horizontal sweep that can be a glove side moving offering with potential T2297, 2191 average rpm. CH: 81-83 mph. Deceptive CHG with heavy fade to the arm side and ability to kill spin. Picks up whiff and soft contact on it. T1713, 1662 average rpm.

7. Oliver Dauskurdas 1B / RHP / Oaks Christian, CA / 2028
Positional Profile: CIF - Advanced toolset for Fr. who shows impact at the plate from RH side with athletic operation. Corner INF/OF defensive profile with CF potential and high quality 2-way potential as RHP with control of strike zone and solid 3 pitch mix. Body: 6-3, 185 pounds. Strong present frame with athletic build and room to continue adding with maturity. Hit: RHH. Taller posture with slight knee bend from an open stance with width to his base. Hands are set at shoulder height off rear shoulder with vertical bat angle and low back elbow. Small leg kick with sit into rear hip to start load while tipping his barrel to load hands. Lands balanced at launch with aggressive hip turn. Uphill barrel path with present bat speed and hands that work to deliver the barrel on time. Stays behind the ball with his body. Hit with power profile. mph bat speed with g of rotational acceleration. Power: 96 mph max exit velocity (91.4 avg.); 371-foot max batted distance. Lives more in the air with his contact while consistently barreling the ball with authority. Impact has carry from CF to LF foul line with HR power and will grow into opposite field HR power. Arm: RH. INF - 80.00 mph.pull-side Present arm speed with easy operation that shows online carry and accuracy. Arm profiles to corners on INF/OF. Defense: Paraclete Good body control with solid footwork and soft glove work. Can play laterally with ability to show range. Comes downhill well. Fits in all corner defense spots potentially. Athletic Testing: 7.06 runner in the 60-yard dash. Athletic mover with ability to maintain stride length/speed and body control.

Corner INF/OF defensive profile with CF potential and high quality 2-way potential as RHP with control of strike zone and solid 3 pitch mix. Body: 6-3, 185-pounds. Strong present frame with athletic build and room to continue adding with maturity. Delivery: Hands start high in set position before working to hips to sync with front knee in the load portion of the delivery. Stays taller in the move down the mound with length to his stride. Hips work with feel to block on the front leg and holds direction well. Controlled operation with repeatability. Arm Action: RH. Longer arm path out of the glove that works back with depth behind the body. Shows present arm speed and looseness to get to release on time. High 3/4 slot with minimal recoil after release. FB: T82, 79-81 mph. Solid present pitch which gets swings/soft contact and plays well down in the zone T1815, 1615 average rpm. CB: 66-68 mph. Sweepier like CB that plays more like a SLV and gets soft contact T1975, 1819 average rpm.

8. Isaiah Tillman LHP / OF / Royal, CA / 2026
Positional Profile: OF - Highly intriguing 2-way profile as a LHH OF who could play CF defensively and shows feel to hit with rising impact, plus an arrow LHP profile with upper 80's velo and a pair of really good offspeed pitches. Body: 5-10, 165 pounds. Wiry athletic build with some leanness but emerging strength Hit: LHH. Wider set up with his feet with even toes and slight knee bend and hip hinge. High back elbow with hands set at ear height closer to his head with a flat bat angle. Deep shift onto his backside with a lengthy double toe tap that creates an aggressive forward move but he controls it with balance. Turns with quickness in his hips and ability to sink into his rear leg and use the ground. Rear shoulder drives through contact. Hands are direct into the zone with a shorter barrel path that stays flat through the zone for leverage. 67 mph bat speed with 26g of rotational acceleration. Power: 95 mph max exit velocity (85.1 avg.); 345-foot max batted distance. Keeps the ball of the ground with consistency and showed an interesting ability to catch the ball out front with authority and lift while adding strong top end EV which gives him pull-side HR impact while profiling to middle of the field doubles power. Arm: LH. OF - 86.00 mph. Some depth in the path out of the glove with an aggressive arm action that gets carry to his throws while showing accuracy. Gives him 3 position versatility. Defense: Aggressive defender who can cover ground shows instincts for the ball in the air and confidence to make plays which gives him a solid CF profile. Athletic Testing: 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash. Builds low with burst off the line and shows short quick strides throughout.
Positional Profile: LHP - Highly intriguing 2-way profile as a LHH OF who could play CF defensively and shows feel to hit with rising impact, plus an arrow LHP profile with upper 80's velo and a pair of really good offspeed pitches. Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Wiry athletic build with some leanness but emerging strength Delivery: Hands set up above the chest off his body and remain quiet as he shifts his weight back to the balance point with his leg lift. Drops down into rear leg with a drop/drive movement down the mound that has athleticism and tempo. Shows feel to block his front leg and let his hips rotate around the front leg well. Aggressive tempo that he controls well. Arm Action: LH. Shows loose fast arm speed with extension on his pitches from a full arm path with depth that gets to a high 3/4 release point and has some recoil after release. FB: T87, 85-87 mph. Lively FB which has solid present velocity and life at the top of the zone with a straighter movement profile. Can get whiff. T1896, 1763 average rpm. CB: 72-75 mph. Sharp vertical breaking CB with power to the break shows ability to get whiff
T2510, 2252 average rpm. CH: 78-78 mph. CHG tunnels well with his FB out of the hand and fade to the arm side with ability to kill spin and generate deception T1419, 1350 average rpm.

9. Mason Crang SS / RHP / San Marcos Senior High, CA / 2026
Positional Profile: SS - Intriguing profile on offensive side where he shows present hit tool with emerging power while adding upside on the mound with quality pitch mix/feel for strike zone and left side of INF defensive profile. Body: 6-1, 196 pounds. Strongly built athletic frame with room to add Hit: RHH. Wider base with feet and slight bend of knees and hip hinge. Hands are set above ear height at rear shoulder depth with high back elbow. Uses slight weight shift into back leg with toe tap on front foot into short stride to reach launch position. Hands lower into slot. Controlled load. Aggressive with his hips and hands into the zone and rear shoulder drives through contact. Hands are direct to the ball with leverage through the zone with his barrel. Shows present bat speed with quickness in the turn. 71.7 mph bat speed with 17g of rotational acceleration. Power: 98 mph max exit velocity (93.6 avg.); 362-foot max batted distance. Elevates the ball to middle/pull side with consistency and carry showing HR power profile with regular hard contact and interesting top end EV. Can grow into future oppo power, as well. Arm: RH. INF - 82.00 mph.pull-side Some length to arm path out of glove, but shows quickness in arm stroke with carry to his throws and feel for accuracy. Profiles at 3B. Defense: Paraclete Feet and hands are sound with good foundation and plays his angles well with body control. Can get downhill and throw from multiple slots while playing 1-handed. Solid defensive profile. Athletic Testing: 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash. Drives low off the line with quick short strides he maintains throughout
Positional Profile: RHP - Intriguing profile on offensive side where he shows present hit tool with emerging power while adding upside on the mound with quality pitch mix/feel for strike zone and left side of INF defensive profile. Body: 6-1, 196-pounds. Strongly built athletic frame with room to add Delivery: High hand set that works to hips before syncing with the front knee in load portion of the delivery. Drops into rear leg in a drop/drive style move down the mound. Uses lower 1/2 effectively with good hip turn and ability to block solidly on front leg to maintain direction with tempo in the operation. Arm Action: RH. Longer arm path out of the glove that works back and deep, but shows the present arm speed and looseness to get to release out front from a high 3/4 slot with minimal recoil after release. FB: T87, 84-86 mph. Solid present FB shape with some ride to it while displaying solid spin rates giving him the ability to elevate in the zone T2156, 2031 average rpm. CB: 75-76 mph. Plays well off his FB with a downward breaking shape showing depth and 2 plane action with glove side bite. Good spin rate and will get whiff/chase from RHH and LHH T2450, 2385 average rpm. CH: 81-82 mph. Firmer CHG with arm side action, but needs polish T1895, 1788 average rpm.

Positional Profile: SS - Impact in his RH bat with power profile while flashing hit tool. Solid INF profile that should stick on left side. Intriguing ceiling. Body: 6-0, 175 pounds. Athletic present build with some present strength Hit: RHH. Narrower set up with taller posture featuring small knee bend and hip hinge. Higher back elbow with hands set low around shoulder height with flat barrel close to his head/neck. Sits into his rear leg to begin the load with a medium sized leg kick while hanging slightly. Hands drop down into the slot and backward to separate from body. Sinks into his legs during the turn with tilt in his body at finish. Present bat speed with quickness in the turn. Hand path and barrel path both work uphill with feel for lifting the ball with authority. 70.1 mph bat speed with 24g of rotational acceleration. Power: 98 mph max exit velocity (95.3 avg.); 370-foot max batted distance. Uphill path is geared towards creating hard contact in the air while showing a feel for rhythm/timing to get there consistently with carry. Power plays from the pull side to middle of the field with more to come as he matures. Arm: RH. INF - 86.00 mph.pull-side Length in path with loose quickness through the throw. Releases from lower slot and can drop down. Ball has carry with present strength shows left side of INF profile. Defense: Paraclete Sound body control with good feet, soft hands, feel to play laterally/downhill with comfort. Flashes the potential to stick at SS long term with 3B fall back. Athletic Testing: 7.10 runner in the 60-yard dash. Drives low off the line with athletic operation that maintains stride length/speed throughout.
