Super Sophomore Games 2025: Quick Hitters Team South Carolina - Hitters Part

The East Coast Super Sophomore Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2028 prospects.

Ten teams featuring players from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Team Select competed at the beautiful UNC’s Boshamer Stadium and Burlington Athletic Park in North Carolina.

Team South Carolina completed their full pro-style workout on Friday at UNC.

Below we take a first look at some notes from the position players at the event!

QUICK HITTERS - POSITION PLAYERS(Part 1)

Braden Lawton SS / OF / Spring Valley, SC / 2028

Athletic defender with quick, efficient hands and smooth infield actions. Posted a 6.83 60-yard dash and showcased an 83 mph arm across the diamond. Offensively, shows quick hands at the plate with the ability to impact the baseball, and there’s projectable power as he adds strength. Well-rounded skill set with tools to develop at the next level.

Colt Bakich SS / 2B / D.W. Daniel, SC / 2028

Athletic left-handed swing with quick, efficient hands through the zone. Recorded a 23.2 mph hand speed via Blast Motion. Produced a hard shot to LF for a base hit and demonstrated a quality, all-fields approach at the plate. Defensively, showed an 80 mph arm across the infield with clean actions. Well-rounded profile with offensive upside.

Cal Schnabel SS / 2B / D.W. Daniel, SC / 2028

Displays a strong feel for his swing and a confident, disciplined approach. Hands work easy and loose through the zone with quick bat speed, and there’s plenty of room to add strength to his frame. Shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields with consistent hand speed. Defensively, features smooth, clean infield actions with natural rhythm.

Daniel Ebeling C / 3B / Philip Simmons, SC / 2028

Trusts his hands and consistently delivers an accurate barrel through the zone. Possesses a smooth, natural left-handed stroke with easy rhythm. Posted a 92 mph max exit velocity and a 336-foot max distance, showing present pop with room for more. Behind the plate, demonstrates quick transfers and efficient footwork, recording a top pop time of 2.04.

Banks Alexander C / 2B / River Bluff High, SC / 2028

Strong, athletic frame with present strength and the ability to drive the ball to all fields with emerging power.Quick hands and a knack for finding the barrel, paired with a high-level plate approach and baseball IQ. Runs the bases well, using speed and instincts to create opportunities and swipe bags. Behind the plate, shows accurate throws with a top pop time of 2.02, while also offering defensive versatility with the ability to play the outfield.

Riggs Scott SS / RHP / AC Flora, SC / 2028

Solid athlete with a short, efficient hand path and a flat bat plane, producing line-drive contact.  Shows good bat speed and a consistent flat path through the zone. Defensively, displays versatility to play multiple positions, with clean actions, sound footwork, and an 81 mph arm across the infield.

Parker Holladay C / 2B / Summerville , SC / 2028

Good flat path with bat speed, staying on plane through the zone for consistent contact. Shows good arm strength behind the plate with a top pop time of 1.96. Athletic player with the tools to play the game at a high level and significant projection remaining as he continues to develop.

McClain Knight LHP / OF / A.C. Flora, SC / 2028

Makes a nice adjustment pulling the hands inside to get on the barrel. Lanky frame with plenty of room to add strength. Simple, connected swing that finds the barrel consistently. Showcased athleticism in the outfield with three high-level catches and the ability to make plays on the move. 84 mph arm from the outfield with a 7.05 60 time.
