Calgary Future Games Trials: Hitting Data Dive

On Saturday, March 16th, the Prep Baseball Alberta staff hosted it's second of two Future Games Trials with the Calgary Future Games Trials hosted at Duvernay Fieldhouse in Okotoks, Alberta.
This event featured roughly 23 prospects in the 2026 - 2029 classes and players in attendance were vying for a spot on one of Canada's three teams heading to LakePoint Sports in Atlanta during late July for the annual Future Games week. The three teams include our primary Future Games team (2027 & 2028), Senior Future Games (2026) and the Junior Future Games (2029 & 2030). Beyond these three teams, participants are also now eligible for other marquee events such as the Pacific NorthWest Games (2026-2028), West Coast Super Sophomore Games (2028) and the West Coast Games (2026).
All player ran through a full workout that included batting practice, bullpens, and a defensive drills. Over the next several days we'll be highlighting top performers from the event within our post-event analysis. Stay locked into our social media channels over the next several days as we continue to push out video, leaderboards and more.
Earlier this week we began our post-event coverage within our Statistical Analysis article. Today we'll continue our post-event leaderboards within this article as we take a look at the top hitting metrics, captured by TrackMan during batting practice on Sunday.

Exit Velocity: This metric measures the speed of the ball, measured in miles per hour, as it comes off the bat at the moment of contact.
BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)

HARD-HIT %
Hard Hit % - Percentage of batted balls with an exit velocity of 90 MPH or higher.
SWEET SPOT %
Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.
