Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations from high school coaches statewide. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards and to the coaches for their nominations.

Additionally, we will continue our Alabama Diamond Notes, released every Wednesday, to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Mizuno Week 4 Pitcher of the Week

Tyler Pierce RHP / SS / Boaz, AL / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 123 / POS: 34 RHP/SS Tyler Pierce has been named the Mizuno Pitcher of the Week after an incredible performance on the mound, striking out 10 over five innings without allowing a hit or a walk in a perfect game. A talented multi-sport athlete committed to West Alabama for football, Pierce has been on a dominant stretch, following up a previous week where he went eight innings, earning a complete-game win while giving up just one hit, no earned runs, and two walks with 16 strikeouts.
