On Sunday, February 16th, the PB California staff traveled to Novato HS in Novato, CA, to host the Bay Area Preseason ID, an open event for the class of 2025-2028.

Four players made their way to Novato and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Jaydin Castro, Eleanor Roosevelt High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: C/SS
Body: 5-11, 165 pounds. Athletic and wiry frame with more fill coming.
Hit: RHH. Feet setup right outside shoulders. Hands above ear. Gradual load with weight transition to back leg. Loose. Quick bat speed. Stays level. Sprays to all fields. 65.7 mph bat speed with 11g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 mph max exit velocity (85.6 avg.); 319-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 76.00 mph. INF - 78.00 mph. Quick arm with over the top release.
Defense: 2.13-2.25 pop time range; C: Mobile behind the plate. Athletic blocker. INF: Easy mover with sound footwork. Soft gather.

Conner Cleary, Ukiah High (CA), 2028

Body: 5-11, 185 pounds. Displays strength throughout. Long levers.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance, hands parallel to shoulders. Heavy hand load with slight leg kick. Stays in line. Longer path, stays level. Creates some whip to the barrel. 76.1 mph bat speed with 13g of rotational acceleration.
