Southern states like Florida and Louisiana are in the thick of the playoffs, while others are marching toward the postseason. The latest Hotlist looks at some teams that are on a roll with a run at a championship in sight.

Amity HS, CT
Amity just keeps winning, posting a 12-0 record and ranking No. 1 in Connecticut. They have outscored opponents 83-17. The pitching staff is led by senior RHP Eli Oliphant, a Fairfield recruit, junior RHP Max Scheps, junior RHP/SS Teddy Hague and senior RHP Brian Roani. The staff pounds the strike zone while a fast, powerful and deep lineup puts the ball in play and the defense makes all the routine plays.
