PBR Florida
PBR Florida Staff

The 2021 PBR Future Games has come and gone. The event featured the top uncommitted 2023 and 2024 players around the country representing their home state in front of over 350+ college coaches. Team Florida was a fun and talented squad who showcased their abilities all week. They would go 2-0-1 with wins over Carolina and Mid-Atlantic and a tie vs Georgia.

Post event, we will be spotlighting each member of Team Florida. Continuing with 2023 RHP/OF Christian Rodriguez. Rodriguez is an athletic two-way from Stoneman Douglas. He plays travel ball with Eagles Baseball. Rodriguez is the top ranked uncommitted player in the Florida 2023 class and number 51 overall. A highly talented two-way, Rodriguez showed all his tools at the Future Games. He has an electric arm that he showcased up to 93 mph from the outfield. Offensively, stays in rhythm using quick hands to find the barrel. Uses strong lower half well to generate gap to gap power. Rodriguez went 2-5 with a double and a RBI at the Future Games. On the mound is where Rodriguez has the highest ceiling. Attacks hitters with life on the fastball. Shows an above average changeup and developing slider. Has been up to 95 but sat 91-93 at the Future Games. Rodriguez started game three versus Georgia and went 3 innings of 1 run ball. Struck out 5 allowing just 1 hit. Rodriguez should be on the radar of every school in the country as he is one of the top 2023s still available.
