2023 PBR Florida Player of the Year: Christian Rodriguez

5-foot-11, 187-pound solid athletic build. Solid projectable in the box, Rodriguez's best exit velocity was 96 mph. Began in a tall balanced stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then used a short leg kick. Has a short upward swing plane, explosive bat speed and high finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average in the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 93 mph; showed sure consistent hands, a quick natural exchange, and rhythmic feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a short very quick arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.11. Above average projectable on the mound, using a long arm action he showed lightning quick arm speed from a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Has even shoulder and athletic balance point. Lands square with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 89-92 mph and topped out at 93 mph; has a heavy fastball that shows hard running action and control in the zone. (Max spin 2329; Avg 1984). He shows late fading action and in the zone control on his sharp changeup (76-79). Shows down in the zone control and hard swing and miss action on his tight slider (73-78).
