The 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hander has battled control issues in his two seasons with the Colonels but came on strong as the team’s Friday start in 2021, averaging 14.4 K/9 over 38.2 frames while making 10 starts. He pitches at 90-92 mph but can his fastball up to 94-95. His mid-80s slider plays nicely off his fastball, giving Davenport a second swing-and-miss offering, and he’ll also show feel for turning over a decent changeup.
