Today, we take a closer look at some of the top performers from the event on Saturday. ⤵️

South Georgia Preseason ID Quick Hits

Wessley Roberson, OF, 2026, Glynn Academy
A bit of a full circle moment as the South Georgia Preseason ID was my first event as assistant scouting director back in 2024 with Roberson showing extremely well as a then-uncommitted sophomore. Fast forward to the same event on Saturday, and the LSU commit looked the part of a potential five-tool centerfielder. Barrel-chested frame at 6-foot-0, 185-pounds, Roberson set the tone early with an eye-opening 6.43 in the 60, showing an electric first step (1.57 10 yard split) with ability to reach and hold top speed throughout. The loud start carried over into BP where the outfielder put on a show from both sides of the plate. First time seeing Roberson swing RH and showed easy pull-side carry from a well-leveraged path that’s paired with present bat speed and good length in-zone. Generated EVs up 101.7 from the right before hopping over to his natural left-side and looked even more impressive. Went all-fields throughout the round, sending balls well over the fence to LCF and many to the pull-side. Finished the day with an event-best in average (95.3) and max (103.9) exit velocities while hitting close to double-digit HR in 20 pitches. Roberson ended the day with an explosive 97 from the OF while showing great footwork and accuracy to the plate. From top to bottom, it was as good as it gets for early January and Roberson looks as tooled-up as any player in Georgia’s 2026 class. All signs to a huge senior campaign and could be poised for real draft interest this summer.

Kai Orr, OF, 2027, Glynn Academy
Uncommitted. The Glynn Academy talent ran deep at the event and Orr was one of the biggest winners. Plenty of athleticism and twitch in a compact 5-foot-9, 157-pound frame. The junior started his day by running a 7.00 60 and followed it up with a potent round of batting practice. The LHH showed sneaky pop to the pull-side as he sent at least 5+ over the RF wall (Max Distance: 367ft.) Present feel to change barrel plane in zone backed by fast hands and excellent ability to rotate while wasting minimal effort (Max EV: 96.7, Avg. EV: 88.8). As well as showing a live arm from the outfield as he posted an OF velo of 86 MPH. Orr offers a high-floor profile with the gamer like intangibles that instantly add value to a club’s success.

Noah Harris, MIF/RHP, 2028, Benedictine
Standout performance after another seems to be a trend continuing for the Benedictine product and it was that and then some on Saturday. Harris stands a wiry and athletic 6-foot-1, 169-pounds with plenty more to project. Kicked off the day and ran a 7.10 60. At the plate, the LHH is an extremely easy mover through impact and exudes excellent body control. Shows quiet, strong hands through the zone and leverages the barrel well with pull-side present. Put together a Max EV of 93.1 and a Max distance of 311ft. Actions up-the-middle in the dirt stood out with present athleticism, soft hands, and arm strength ( IF Velo: 84) to match. On the mound, Harris is an athletic mover and repeats well from a ¾ slot with arm speed and whip to the arm-action. Showed good feel for the entire 3-pitch mix as the fastball sat 83-85 (T86 MPH) with arm-side run. Changeup was effective out of the same tunnel with arm-side fade at 74-76. Curveball creates 12/6 depth and polishes off the arsenal. The Harris stock continues to grow and the two-way sophomore is quickly becoming a name to know nationally with much more in store for 2026.

Landen Harris, OF/RHP, 2028, Benedictine
The progression for the Harris twins over the last calendar year has been impressive to say the least. From standout performances at this same event last year as well as Top Prospect Games over the summer, Harris is on his way to fully breaking out this spring. Good muscle added to a well-tapered 6-foot-0, 171-pound frame while making significant jumps in overall athleticism. Harris opened the day with a strong 6.92 in the 60, cutting nearly half a second off his time in 12 months. The progression continued to show into BP where the added strength helped lead to one of the most impressive rounds we've seen from the sophomore.

January 2025: Avg. EV: 73.5, Max EV: 90.0, Max Distance: 272ft.

January 2026: Avg. EV: 83.8, Max EV: 98.9, Max Distance: 366ft.

Direct path to the ball with strength in the hands/wirsts and advanced ability to manipulate the barrel in-zone. Ball jumps to the pull-side with the ability to gap-to-gap as well. Hugh ceiling in the hit/power combo. Arm talent shows both in the OF (89 OF velo) and the mound, where there is real two-way upside. Works from an over-the-top slot with some deception in the downhill angle and ability to repeat. Fastball was up to 84 with arm-side life and much more to come. Pairs well with a 12/6 curveball in the low-70s and a changeup at 73-75 that both create quality depth. It’s a profile thats easy to dream on, and we could be in-store for an even bigger jump in 2026. Buy stock now.

Brantley Willis, RHP, 2028, Pierce County
One of the biggest winners this fall after a breakout performance at the UGA Campus Tour, and Willis continues to impress with an excellent showing on Saturday. Physical 6-foot-1, 198-pound frame adds more lean muscle every time we see him and has the makings of a workhorse starter down the line. Overall stuff and feel to pitch is growing at a rapid rate for the sophomore, and displays excellent body control in a repeatable lower three-quarters delivery. Fastball jumps out of the hand for RHP, holding 87-89 with ride and feel to land throughout the zone. Added over 7 MPH on the FB throughout 2025, and easy to see another big-time jump coming with the way he’s developing. Slider is a weapon already at 72-75 with sweep and obvious feel to spin (2600+ RPM). Commands it well to glove-side with ability to bury it at will for swing-and-miss. Possibly the most intriguing pitch in the mix is the newly-added kick change at 78-80 that creates immense depth with some glove-side tumble as well. Kills spin at a ridiculous rate, averaging 725 RPM while landing for strikes. The progression and ceiling is fairly easy to see for Willis with the chance to be one of the biggest breakouts in the state with a big spring season.

Preston Conrad, OF/RHP, 2028, Camden County
The Camden County outfielder put together a strong showing in the box on Saturday afternoon. Stands a physical 5-foot-11, 194-pounds, with present strength and a well-connected LH cut. Utilizes a quick toe tap trigger that allows Conrad to stay balanced through the zone with good length and some steepness to the path as hammered baseballs to the pull-side consistently throughout the round. Excellent feel for the barrel stands out as he posted a Max EV of 96.5 and a Max Distance of 334ft. backed by above-average hand and bat speed (24.7, 76.9). Conrad also showed well on the mound with repeatability from a higher ¾ slot as he lived in-the-zone with the FB/CB mix. Fastball sat in the low 80’s (T81 mph) and curveball creates good depth out of the same tunnel in the mid 60’s. The sophomore looks poised to carry a major role once again this Spring after gaining invaluable experience as a freshman a year ago for Coach Bryant.

Gage Witham, OF, 2029, Richmond Hill
The Richmond Hill freshman impressed amongst staff across the entirety of the event. Physical and athletic at 5-foot-11, 176-pounds, Witham kicked off the day by running a 7.12 60. At the plate, the RHH shows great utilization of his lower half and creates excellent length in-zone while staying balanced through impact. Strength in the hands really stood out for Witham as he produced a Max EV of 93.0 and a Max Distance of 354ft. Look for the freshman to make a push for a spot on a talented Richmond Hill squad this upcoming Spring.

Clark Carter, C, 2028, Brantley County
Carter put together a potent round of batting practice and then some at the South Georgia Preseason ID. Armed with loads of strength in a stout 5-foot-10, 201-pound frame, Clark stays extremely simple at the dish and works from a compact RH path with easy juice to the pull-side (Max EV: 95.7, Max Distance: 334ft.). As well as posting an impressive 7.15 60. It’s clear to see that a strong sophomore campaign with Brantley County certainly appears to be on the horizon for the backstop.

Keegan Mathis, RHP, 2027, Glynn Academy
Easily one of the most impressive bullpens we have seen from the uncommitted junior this past weekend. Boasting an XL 6-foot-5, 224-pound frame, you knew a jump was coming for Mathis and we saw the beginning stages of that as the RHP ran it up to 87.4, holding mid-80s while landing three pitches for strikes. Fastball creates a tough angle to barrel up from a lower slot with some arm-side run. More velocity is likely on the way as the big frame begins to mature physically. Changeup could be Mathis' best offering right with ability to kill both spin (1100 RPM) and velocity at 73-75 with good arm-side fade. Rounding out the mix is the mid-70s slider that shows quality horizontal break and present feel to spin (2400+ RPM) with ability to be a swing-and-miss eventually. Mathis will be looked upon for a big role this spring with the Terror Pack and could be in-line to put himself in front of multiple schools in a pivotal junior year.

Braxton Sykes, SS/RHP, 2028, Frederica Academy
It was a quality showing across the board on both sides of the ball for the Frederica Academy two-way. Wiry 6-foot-1,150-pound frame, Sykes boasts present athleticism and projection remaining. Ran a 7.04 60 to start the day. The RHH creates good separation at the plate and shifts weight well through impact with leverage in the barrel. Sykes produced a Max EV of 90.0 and a Max Distance of 327ft. as he found the barrel regularly throughout the round in a heavy pull-side approach. Posted an event best infield velo at 87 mph backed by quality footwork and present arm strength. On the mound, Sykes creates extension and deception from a low ¾ slot with some whip present in the arm action. Fastball sat in the low 80’s with life out of the hand and slider tunnels well off it at 73-75 with depth. Changeup mixed in at 71mph. Sykes offers a strong floor and should help Frederica succeed in a multitude of ways once again this Spring.
