On Sunday, October 16th, we hosted the 2018 Underclass Preview Showcase at Roundtripper Sports Academy in Westfield, IN.   

Below is a look at some of the eventˈs top performers. 

Alphabetical Order

Jacob Gilcrest, LHP, Center Grove HS, 2018: Projectable pitchers frame a 6-foot-5, 193 pounds.  Possesses quick arm speed from a ¾ slot.  Tall balance point, max effort, rushed delivery.  Uphill shoulders.  Good direction to the plate, lands square.  Fastball was heavy with some run at 86-87, topping at 89; erratic in the zone.  70-73 Breaking ball has 2/8 shape with gradual break.  Flashed a couple that were sharp; needs to throw it harder. Changeup sat 78-82.  Lots of upside.  Committed to Louisville shortly after the event.
