Spring Rankings Update: Class of 2027

Cooper Trinkle
Scouting Director

The sophomores enter a pivotal year in both recruiting and development and our board continues to evolve with the emerging talent. A handful of prospects took advantage of the offseason and returned to show big gains in their overall physical development and toolset to merit a move up our board. Our top ten does see a bit of a shuffle, including a new No. 1, and a new face added. This group will be under the microscope this spring with several impact players on highly ranked teams featured on this list, without further ado : the updated top ten highlighted by its' risers, a revisit to the position-by-position breakdown, the full list, and more, found below.

+ The top players continue to pull ahead and this update features some shuffling in that group. SS Isaiah Snavely takes over as the new No. 1 in this update, the star of the Preseason All-State after turning in a 6.6 60, 100+ exits, and a 94 mph infield arm. Its' a premier, 6-foot-3, athletic frame with room to add strength and a left-side profile with a chance to stick at short long-term. The present tools are well-advanced for the age, and his aggressive nature plays them up even higher in-game, with power looming...

+ RHP Cole Cheatham (Union County) sees a bump two spots to No. 3 overall. There was not a more imposing frame at the Underclass All-State than Cheatham's country-strong, 6-foot-3, 235 pound frame. It is a big league frame with big feet, hands, and strong legs & he toed the rubber at the All-State still 15 years old to add intriguing upside. His fastball was even louder, up to 94 at this event and he owns one of the strongest arms in the 2027 class on a national scale. There was feel to spin a top-down breaking ball in the low-80s that has out-pitch upside, as well, and Cheatham has a chance to polish into one of the nation's best power arms in the '27 class.

+ RHP Eli Hall (Noblesvile) showed big jumps on opening night of the high school season and moves to No. 6 overall & the No. 2 overall arm on our board. He has added lean muscle to his athletic, 6-foot-2 frame over the winter and it translated to a big velocity jump. Hall is now pitching at 88-91 with a cut-ride fastball that still has more in the tank. There is feel to spin and shape a power 11/5 CB in the upper-70s, a future out-pitch with sharpness already present. He rounded out a future starters' mix with a 82-84 change that plays with sink and there is a mid-80s cutter in the bag, as well. Hall elevates in this update and is a '27 arm RC's should be booking trips to see this spring for Noblesville.

+ SS Liam Delp (Mooresville) sees a slight bump to the No. 8 spot. Known for gamer tendencies, his toolset elevated in a major fashion over the winter, now a 6.5 runner with a 91 mph arm to pair with some of the best infield actions in the class & the athleticism to man CF. His exits now reach 98-plus with twitchy hands and sneaky pull-side juice to louden strong bat-to-ball skills. There is still room in the wiry, 5-foot-10, 165 pound for further strength gains, but the present mix of skill, twitch, and an up-the-middle profile cements him in our top ten.

+ RHP Lucas Haas (Valparaiso) is the new face amongst the group now at the No. 10 spot and the No. 4 overall arm on our board. His bullpen at our Great Lakes ID this winter was my favorite of any '27 arm and the high-waisted, ultra-projectable, 6-foot-3, 170 pounder flooded the zone with an ultra-clean operation that included above average stuff. The fastball played at 85-87 with carry and he showed feel for a sweeping, mid-70s slider and heavily-faded, upper-70s change. The fastball will continue to tick and Haas has a chance to continue to move up the board...
