2025 KSHSAA Power 25: Week 2

Prep Baseball Kansas Staff

The Kansas high school baseball kicked off on March 20th with opening day for regular season action under KSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Kansas Preseason Power 25 Rankings. Check them all out HERE

Starting on Opening Day, our scouts have been out and about covering the 2025 season, publishing scout notes and additional in-season content along the way, like Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, and weekly top performers included inside Diamond Notes.

During the season, you can catch all the action by following us on Twitter @PrepBaseballKS

While much of the initial lists are weighted on previous performances, prospects, and projections, updates will be inherently tied to the production on the field. Simply put: wins, level of competition, and prospects matter. A human element to the list will still provide important information on the nuances and intricacies that the season bestows. Whether it is a close loss in a rivalry game, a five-game in three days gauntlet, or a bout of sickness that depletes a lineup, you can count on Prep Baseball to critically examine the playing field at all times. It never fails that there are huge surprises in both directions as the season gets underway and that's why play the games. We have already seen some exciting movement in the Power 25.

2025 Prep Baseball Kansas POWER 25 - Week 2

Haysville Campus jumps into the rankings at No. 8 after four convincing wins in a perfect start. The Colts are winning with both talent and execution.

Fort Scott starts the year with a perfect 5-0 record, including strong wins over De Soto and Andover Central, entering at the No. 14 spot.

Shawnee Heights moves from a team on deck into the Power 25 with a 4-1 start including strong wins over De Soto and Life Prep and their only loss coming to a very talented Shawnee Mission East group.

Maize South makes their debut at No.22 with a 4-1 start, only losing to Olathe North.

Hayden starts out the year where they left off last year, going 3-0 and moving into the top 25.

McPherson is a well coached and together group that starts off an unsurprising 4-0 to enter the top 25.

Making a 3 spot move up the list is Blue Valley North with a 3-0 start. This sets up an undefeated matchup on Tuesday with Blue Valley West.

Bishop Carroll is up 4 spots with an impressive win over Shawnee Mission East.

Gardner-Edgerton is up 11 spots with a 3-1 start with their only loss coming to the No. 1 team in KS.

Blue Valley West is up 5 spots with a perfect 5-0 start.

Though they took a loss to perennial Missouri power house Liberty North on the road, St. Thomas Aquinas rises into our No. 1 spot.
