Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK

No. of Returning Position Players: 8
No. of Returning Pitchers: 7

Top Returners:

  • C Will Howard (2025; Navy) - 6'2, 210
    • Will is committed to the Naval Academy to play baseball. He has been a 4 year starter for the Bobcats and is poised to be a leader again this season. He led the team in hits and average last season with a .427 BA and led our team in home runs.
  • SS/2B/OF/P Trey West (2025; Washburn) - 6'1, 165
    • Trey has been a 4 year starter as well and is committed to continue his baseball career at Washburn University.
  • SS/3B/P Garrett Pierce (2025) - 5'9", 190
    • Garrett is the heart of our team. His numbers at the plate took a dip in his junior season but we anticipate him to bounce back strong in his senior year.
  • OF/MIF Nate Martin (2026) - 6', 175
    • Nate has been a two year starter prior to his junior season. He has been a lead off hitter for us, led the team in stolen bases. Is a very versatile player that provides solid defense and is explosive on offense.
  • 2B/3B/P Steven Zimbelman (2026) - 6'2, 165
    • Steven is another guy that has played a lot of baseball for us at a very young age. Shows a lot of pop at the plate, was second on our team in home runs last season and has been solid on defense. Wasn't able to pitch as much last season due to injury but we are expecting him to more going into this season.
  • 3B/C Caden Puderbaugh (2026) - 5'10, 185
    • Caden has provided a lot of depth as a catcher and started at 3B. Consistently has great ABs and has been a staple in our IF.
  • P Corbin Sprague (2025) - 6'2, 170
    • Solified a role as our #1 pitcher by the end of last season. Had commanding performances late in the season and we are expecting the same going into this season.
  • P Kaleb Lingenfelser (2025) - 5'9, 165
    • Kaleb brings back a lot of experience on the mound from his junior and even his sophomore season. Expecting him to regularly be in the rotation and leading this group.

Top Newcomers: Anticipating a few guys to step up and contribute in big ways. This category remains to be seen.

Key Players Lost:

Coach’s Insight: “We return a lot of experience in the field, on the mound, and at the plate. We have been pretty young for the last two years and expect the returners to take on leadership roles and lead with great energy. We have a pretty tight-nit group that plays for each other and have battled a lot of adversity over the years. We have battled the injury bug the last two seasons with some key pieces. Hoping to dodge that this season and lean on our experienced group of leaders. ” – Zach Livingston, head coach
