The Top 5

For the second straight week, Live Oak sits at the top of our Power 25 Rankings.  The Eagles moved their season record to 22-4 last week, but they were definitely challenged, as each game was decided by three runs or less.  Live Oak beat Denhamn Springs on Tuesday, before a two-game district sweep of Prairieville, and they capped their week off last Friday with a 4-3 comeback victory over Parkview Baptist.

Benton stays at #2 again this week after picking up three wins in Week 7 to push their season record to 24-1.  The Tigers beat Haughton in extra-innings on Tuesday and then swept Evangel in two games both via the ten-run rule.  Former Senior Future Gamer Thomas Allen earned the win against Haughton, after tossing 8 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 11 strikeouts.  Benton has a big matchup this Monday against West Monroe.

Teurlings Catholic is our #3 ranked team this week with an overall record of 19-3.  The Rebels picked up wins last week over Westgate and Comeaux.  Junior Will Power went 4-for-4 with 5 RBI & 3 R in the Rebels two wins last week.

Barbe maintains the #4 spot again after winning all three of their games last week to move their season record to 23-4.  The Bucs beat Acadiana on Tuesday and Thursday, before meeting up with Sam Houston on Saturday in our Week 7 Game of the Week.  Barbe scored one run in the first inning and that's all they would need to beat the Broncos by a score of 1-0.  Sophomore Lawton Littleton was brilliant against Sam Houston, as he tossed a complete-game shutout with 7 strikeouts to earn the win.

Catholic BR stays at the #5 spot after moving their season record to 22-4 with three wins last week.  The Bears defeated Liberty on Tuesday, before a two-game series against Central BR.  They were dominant in both of the games against the Wildcats, winning Game 1 by a score of 12-0 and Game 2 by a score of 8-1.

Risers

+ West Monroe has reeled off nine straight victories and now own an overall season record of 17-7.  The Rebels swept Pineville last week and beat Ouachita Christian on Friday.  On Monday night, they'll have a big test against #2 ranked Benton.

+ Vandebilt Catholic won all four of their games last week to push their record to 20-6.  The Terriers run-ruled South Lafourche and A.J. Ellender, before beating Iowa and Riverside Academy to cap their week off.

+ Natchitoches Central moves back into our Power 25 Rankings with an overall record of 19-6.  The Chiefs beat Avoylles last Monday and Captain Shreve last Tuesday, before a two-game district sweep of C.E. Byrd.
