As the 2018 calendar comes to a close, we look back on the year that was. From big performances to state championships to notable draft picks, 2018 gave a lot to remember. The final Hotlist of the year features the top stories from Prep Baseball Report’s coverage area.

CO: Mountain Vista Wins First 5A Title
Mountain Vista High School ran the table in the regular season, starting the year of 26-0 and finishing 26-1, with their only loss being to Heritage in the final four during double elimination. 2018 LHP Jack Liffrig (Utah), and 2019 RHP Sam Ireland (Minnesota) helped lead the Golden Eagles on the mound. Liffrig finished at 11-0 (21-1 in high school career), and Ireland was 11-1 on the mound while hitting 11 home runs and collecting 43 RBIs.
