It is that time of the year once again, as our staff updates the Class of 2028 across Maryland and Delaware for the first time in 2025. This update sees an addition of 25 players, now up to the top 50 overall after winter events. Below, we take an in-depth look at the Top 50 and highlight three players who are top players to watch as we head into the spring.

Marcus Blaqman RHP / SS / Home School, MD / 2028Rankings StateRank: 2 / POS: 1
One of the highest risers inside our top 10 in this update, Blaqman stole the show in the 2028 class at our MD Preseason All-State II event in the winter, showcasing immense athleticism and strength in every facet of the game. It's a highly athletic, speedy makeup with plenty of projection in both the body and the skillset. Ran a sub 4.00 30-yard (3.89) with a burst of speed that translates to in-game actions and the hit tool sparked interest right away. Quick hands with feel for the barrel, Blaqman showcases the ability to spray line drives to both gaps and produce backspin on a consistent basis. An early two-way prospect, the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder showcased quick arm speed on the bump, running the fastball up to 84 with ease to both sides of the plate, mixing a tight curveball down with plenty to dream on. As this frame fill and matures, look for Blaqman to continue to turn heads in this class. |

Lucas Joseph 1B / LHP / Sussex Technical High School, DE / 2028Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 1
Our top ranked "New Face" in the class, Joseph sees himself debuting at No. 5 with plenty to dream on on both sides of the ball. It's a physical makeup, standing at 5-foot-11, 205-pounds with more to gain and fill as maturity sets in. The swing is powerful, producing loud contact from the left side with evident strength and power ceiling to the pull side gap, and a sound approach that should bode well for an increase in power numbers and contact rate as his high school years continue. On the bump, the southpaw works with plenty of intent, running the fastball in the low 80s with a nice tandem of spin and changeup that work well off the heater. As feel for the arsenal increases and Joseph is able to mature into the body, look for this to be just the start of another powerhouse in this class. |

Daulton McCabe SS / RHP / Woodbridge High School, DE / 2028Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 2
Yet another two-way that jumps into this rankings update, McCabe impressed on both sides of the ball at the East Coast Titans Scout Day in the preseason, and the actions certainly spark interest for the future. It's an athletic 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame with athleticism and core strength that should only widen out as maturity sets in. It's a controlled, intentful delivery on the bump, running the fastball in the low 80s with the ability to occasionally run/sink the heater into right-handed hitters. The curveball shows more 12/6 action right now with some late life down, mixing a low 70s changeup down in the zone as well. At the dish, the approach is mature with the ability to spray line drives to the middle with barrel feel and projectable strength. Rhythm and quick hands should only increase this hit tool as the high school years progress, and look for the actions on both sides to spark as we inch closer to this summer. |
