Athens Drive HS jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead after two innings. East Chapel Hill’s bats were silenced by Athens Drive LHP Elliott Essic. He kept them off balance with a sinking fastball and swooping curveball. 

East Chapel Hill HS scored two runs in the fourth inning, but two runs in the fifth and one run in the sixth ended the game via the 10 run rule. Jack Snipes doubled home Nathan Bunch for the game ending RBI.
