Headed North: 2019 Catchers (NY)

John Northrop

Scouting Supervisor, New York

Welcome back to PBR New York’s Headed North – where we select players to discuss, highlight, and point out what is to be seen this coming spring and summer at the ballpark. In our last piece we looked at three rising outfielders in Drew Bristow (Cicero North Syracuse), Jack Migliore (Wellsville), and Christian Perez (All Hollows) to keep an eye on tracking down fly balls in the outfield come April. Today, we look at three young sophomores that have a solid foundation and are working hard to continue their development as they prepare for the season behind the plate. Catchers Jack Arnold (Canisius), Kyle Vachon (Glens Falls) and Connor Fitzsimmons (Pittsford Sutherland) all have tools to key on for the 2017 season.

Jack Arnold,C, Canisius HS, NY, 2019

Arnold currently ranks 2nd among catchers and 18th overall in the 2019 class. The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder still has room for growth but flashes key attributes that rank him
