RECENT SHOWCASE HISTORY
Future Games (August 2, 2018)
Athletic frame with some projection left at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Pitching- Beers had a strong showing over his two outings in Indiana. Sitting 84-85, touching 86 with repeatable mechanics. Beers features a slightly elevated arm slot that produces a 12-6 CB with depth and gives tilt to his FB. Has feel for change and also can flash a splitter. Not afraid to get after the hitter.
WHAT TO EXPECT
“Beers is an athletic 6-foot-1, 175 pound RHP. Beers has increased all his numbers from his previous PBR events. Beers has a repeatable delivery with a high leg kick with an easy, over-the-top arm action. He has feel for a good Changeup that will get him outs at the next level. He will add a CB at 67-70 MPH and mix in a Splitter at 68-69 MPH. Beers still has room to grow with his frame. He sat 83-85 MPH and topped out at 86 MPH. We anticipate solid command and an arsenal of secondary offerings with the curiosity of potential velocity gains. We’re excited to have Beers back with us at this years Preseason Hudson Valley Trial.”
PLAYER COMPARISON*
*Note: A new feature added to our On Deck Preview. Many times coaches will ask our staff "Who does he remind you of?" Player "comps" are a popular tool in the scouting/recruiting world and we have decided to add that niche.
