The 2017 WNY All-Star Games took place Sept. 24 at Brockport College. Over 60 high-end prospects took the field showing off their skill-sets in front of our PBR NY scouting staff and nearly a dozen college coaches. As the smoke continues to clear, we are fast-at-work piecing together all the scouting data we collected more than three weeks prior. Today we highlight yet another player who's performance earns an extra look.

Scouting Report

WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017) Bernacki stands 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with some strength to his size. At the plate, he uses a slightly open stance with bounce in his legs, loose hands near his chin. He uses a knee lift on the pitch for timing with a stride driving hips forward, strong firm back leg on the stride. Barrel stays mostly flat through contact on a short path, does not get cheated. Full aggressive effort 90 mph exit velocity. Ran a 4.27 home-to-first. Defensively solid with active footwork, strong arm across diamond at 77 mph. He also pitches, showing a mid-upper 70's arm with feel of a 10/5 shape curveball. Overall, Bernacki is young and full of energy, with current upside in the box. Does things a little unorthodox but should smooth out with more reps and training. Really like the motor and looking forward to following his progress.
