These talented seniors are currently uncommitted, but not because of what they can do on the ball field. Many reasons come into play for prospects who do not sign early, and by no means does that put them at fault or a step behind. Sean Duncan takes a look at why seniors shouldn’t panic, and these players should still feel as if they are in the driver’s seat when coming to a decision about their post-secondary education.

Four Talented Unsigned Seniors In The Spotlight

Mat Szabo, RHP, 2015

Mat SzaboScouting Report: The 6-foot-2, 175-pound right hander who works from a high-¾ arm slot, has received plenty of interest from schools over the winter. Arm is quick with a fastball in the high-80s, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Szabo in the 90 mph club during the summer of 2015. His arm angle allows him to create good downard action on his curveball that sits 71-75 mph while his changeup hovers around 74-77 mph range with some late sinking action. Szabo will be in Florida this March with his club team, and looks to hit the ground running in 2015. Szabo will be a great sign for the school of his choice.
