Physical: 5-foot-11, 165 pounds; long, lean build. Pitching: Short side step with leg lift and coil before striding in line to a balanced follow through (leans over the belt o n stride out when drops down). Loose, whippy arm action; mixes a low 3/4 release with a drop down side arm release. FB: T 82MPH, 77-82 MPH. Life out of the hand with arm side run of 15in. on avg.. CB: 66-68 MPH. 2/23/20
Showcased a lean 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with present athleticism, feel for his body, and room to add strength as he matures. The primary right-handed pitcher sat 79-82 mph from a repeatable ¾ arm-slot with whippy arm-action. Mixed in a 67-69 mph curveball with frisbee slider action and a 68-71 mph changeup with occasional arm-side fade thrown with adequate sell. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Featured a short stroke with quality hand speed allowing for barrel whip during batting practice. Generated occasional pull-side lift when contacting the ball out in front of the plate and recorded a 77 mph bat-exit velocity. The outfielder showed off adequate footwork creating momentum towards the target upon fielding and accurate 78 mph arm-strength from his position.
1/06/18
Defensively, hands are adequate. An accurate arm was demonstrated. Benefit would be gained from being more aggressive in attacking and playing through baseball.
Offensively, Initiates swing from neutral set up with stride staying neutral. Hands start low and remain so in load. There is limited separation and passive hip turn. There is considerable length.
On mound, works out of low 3/4 and sidearm arm slots. Arm action is loose. Huwar stays in line on delivery and repeats well. FB sat 63-66 mph with arm side run. CB thrown at 48-51 mph had slow rolling break and 11-5 shape. There was tendency to reduce arm speed and get around CH.
