Elite Prospect Showcase Spotlight: 2018 RHP Dawson Magar

Just one week remains until PBR Pennsylvania's Elite Prospect Showcase on October 29th at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Today, we continue a series of previews on prospects who will be in attendance, as we highlight Donegal HS 2018 RHP Dawson Magar.
The junior impressed at the Western PA Top Prospect Games in June. The 6-foot, 170-pound right-hander sat 77-80 with some arm-side run to his fastball out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Displayed above average feel for a pair of quality secondary offerings. Curveball showed 11/5 rotation and good depth at 68 mph while changeup is thrown at 71 mph with fastball arm speed. Recorded four strikeouts and induced three ground ball outs during his three innings of work in game action. Solid frame and simple delivery projects for additional velocity moving forward.
Donegal went 8-12 in 2016 and Magar (3-0) earned three of those wins as a sophomore. He made nine appearances and finished with a 2.70 ERA while striking out more than one an inning during his 23.1 innings of work.
