Scouting Report
7/18/17 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has very projectable frame. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.13-2.22 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch. Received well in game action and moves well laterally when blocking. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide, slightly open stance and initiates his swing with an abbreviated leg-lift stride. Clears hips early and allows hands to work through extension. Registered a bat exit velocity of 87 mph and went 2-for-6 in game action over two games.
1/28/17 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance a short, leg lift stride to initiate his swing. A deep load leads to some length in his swing with a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Showcased pop times of 2.25-2.35 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch and accurate 67 mph arm strength across the diamond from first base.
9/11/16: Meckley is 6-1 with an athletic frame. He hits from the right side from an athletic stance. Short leg kick stride with a short load back, good rhythm to his swing. Good lower half and balance throughout his swing. Short to the ball with extension through it. Line drive swing now with the potential for power to develop, exit velocity of 76. At first base, decent footwork and soft hands, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a positional velocity of 69. Behind the plate, nice wide base with good hands receiving. Gains ground on a quick release, short arm action with a low three-quarters arm slot, position velocity of 68 and pop times ranging 2.21-2.30.
