Inter AC Scout Day Spotlight: 2021 1B Jimmy Kirk (Malvern Prep)

Physical: 6-foot-2, 220 pounds; Strong, physical build. 8.36 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. tall stance with feet square at shoulder width and hands up to start; gains ground with low leg lift with a relaxed short load of the hands. balanced, efficient lower half with plus bat speed with a flat path through the zone; 12 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Kirk is able to produce 17.7 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 66%.  Gap to gap power with lift to the pull side; average Trackman exit velocity of 91.27 MPH; peak exit velo was 102 MPH.

Defensively: Walks into ready position with  active foot work around the bag. Confident glove with a seamless transfer into a short arm action to a 3/4 release.  INF - 75 MPH.  

Physical: 6-foot-1, 215-pounds. Strong, athletic frame. 7.57 runner in the 60; 4.96 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Tall, upright stance with some bend in the knees, hands level with his ears and work down slightly on load along with a slow, small stride for timing Fast hands, barrel is direct and flat to and through the zone, good use of his lower half in swing. Hard, consistent contact up the middle and to pull-side gap. 99 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Solid footwork, easy lateral movements, fields the ball on his glove foot, soft hands. Short arm swing with a low 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 74 MPH.

6-foot-1, 200-pound right-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice at the event. He starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a short, leg-hang stride. Showcased an aggressive lower half with above average and a high finish resulting in routine backspin. Registered an event best 92 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Displayed a soft glove hand and active feet around the bag at first base with accurate 70 mph arm strength across the diamond.
